What is chassis leasing and how does it work?

Who can lease a chassis?

Any business or carrier with valid operating authority, insurance, and approved credit can apply to lease from Trend Intermodal Chassis.

Complete our lease application and email it to our customer support team at trendchassis@trendchassis.com. We’ll guide you through setup and onboarding.

What documents are required to lease?

  • A valid Certificate of Insurance
  • A completed credit application
  • Proof of operating authority (MC/DOT)
  • Minimum 2 years in business

Pick-Up & Return

Where can I pick up a chassis?

Chassis are available at Trend Intermodal Chassis depots near most major port areas.

Where do I return the chassis?

Return instructions will be provided at the time of hire.

Billing & Payments

How can I pay for a chassis lease?

We accept ACH, credit cards, and wire transfers. Invoices are issued monthly or based on usage. Our bank details are included with the invoice.

Are there penalties for late payment?

Yes. Late fees apply as outlined in your lease agreement. Repeated late or missed payments may result in service suspension.

Insurance, Tolls & Legal

What type of insurance is required?

Lessees must provide liability and physical damage insurance for all leased equipment. Insurance requirements are detailed in your lease.

How do I update my insurance information?

Email your updated Certificate of Insurance to our compliance team at TrendChassis@trendchassis.com. Be sure to list Trend Intermodal Chassis as a certificate holder.

Who is responsible for tolls or tickets?

The lessee is responsible for all tolls, tickets, or citations during the lease period.

What should I do if the chassis is in an accident?

Immediately report the incident to Trend Intermodal Chassis, your insurer, and local authorities if required. Follow the steps outlined in your lease.

What if the chassis is lost, stolen, or impounded?

Contact customer service as soon as possible. Provide any relevant police or impound reports.
